APQ's 1997 Sampler Quilt
Marti designed the first American Patchwork & Quilting magazine sampler quilt, which was published throughout the year in 1993. This quilt is shown on the back cover of The Quilt for a Cure Sampler Quilt Book.
12 blocks alternate with 6 squares of the floral print that was used in the border - yes, those are squares between the blocks! :)
The same diagonal set was used here. Higher contrast (yellow and blue) in the sashing strips that frame the blocks emphasize the blue background to give this quilt a circular appearance.
